The new regional headquarters facility for Wells Fargo includes two 17-story towers offering 1.2 million square feet of office space for more than 5,000 employees. The Innovative Workplace 2020 building is specifically designed to create opportunities for enhanced team member collaboration and communication across all lines of business. The entire campus is also designed and constructed following LEED Platinum standards, ensuring its future as an environmental focal point in Minneapolis. The design includes innovative green roof technology and sustainably grown construction materials.

Both buildings are fully lit with LED lighting and control systems, daylight harvesting and systemic energy conservation measures. State-of-the-art building automation systems and high-efficiency HVAC equipment will monitor energy use and decrease overall energy consumption. Water saving plumbing fixtures and control devices reduce water intake throughout the facility. Visitors to the skyway level are greeted by a series of floor-to-ceiling, black-and-white photographs that offer a glimpse of downtown Minneapolis’ evolution through the first half of the 20th century. Exterior features include six historic limestone medallions recovered from the former Star Tribune headquarters. The conveniently located new campus offers indoor bike storage, lockers and showers to encourage alternative commuting options for team members to decrease energy use and automobile pollution. The towers also connect Wells Fargo team members and guests to the eight-mile Minneapolis Skyway System and the 4.2-acre open space commons area with direct access to the Downtown East rail station. The completion of the Wells Fargo campus also opened the first leg of a new skyway that will eventually connect the core of downtown to U.S. Bank Stadium, home of the Minnesota Vikings.
